An unforgettable experience made exceptional by our guide, Paul, and the GoToMtKenya team. After a 24-hour flight delay, Paul and our driver, Peter, met us in Nairobi and quickly adapted our itinerary. They shortened the route and adjusted plans around a calf injury I had sustained the week before. Despite this, reaching the summit was a personal goal, and Paul did everything possible to help make it happen. Each evening, we were welcomed into a warm camp set up by Cook Danny and porters Anna and Peter, whose care and kindness meant a great deal. The summit push from Mintos Camp at 2am to Point Lenana, then down via Shipton and on to Moses Camp, was a gruelling 12.5-hour day. It was tough, but the team’s support never wavered. This is now one of my favourite hikes, and summiting Mount Kenya made it truly special. As an artist working along the way, I also appreciated Paul’s help with filming and sharing insights throughout the journey. Highly recommended.
