People of Lome and Togo

Togo has so much to offer, but the good side is often neglected.  Togolese share a common trait with Ghanaians - Friendliness.  Beautiful beaches along the tropical coast of Lome is a must to visit.  Qualifying to the soccer world cup has made many Togolese excited.  Togo has some dramatic history too. On February 25 2005, President Faure Gnassingbé was nominated by the ruling party, the Rally for the Togolese People, as the party's presidential candidate. Faure was also chosen as head of the party. Shortly afterwards, Faure announced that he would step down as president of the Togolese people during the interim period.  He was later democratically elected as president.  The young African can be described as the people man.  Faure Gnassingbe has a major task of uniting Togo and pushing it into a middle income economy.
