The telecoms sector in Côte d’Ivoire has undergone privatization and liberalisation. Three mobile operators were licensed in 1996, and there are now more than eight times as many mobile subscribers than fixed lines.

 

Port and Harbors in Cote d'Ivoire face extreme competition from West African rival Ghana.  Ghana has is currently spending about $300 million in remodeling two ports (Tema and Takokoradi) to become the major gateway to Africa.  Ghana is also spending $150 million in upgrading Kotoka international airport.

 

Air Ivoire is currently the main airline of Cote d'Ivoire.  Air Ivoire was established in 1960 and started operations in August 1964 by Sodetraf, UTA and Air Afrique
